SUMMARY:Hurricane Club to Club Regatta & WAZA AGM
DESCRIPTION:HURRICANE SENIOR AND JUNIOR REGATTA. MAYLANDS TO EAST FREMANTLE \nHurricane is opening the 2024/25 racing season with the return of the club to club. This year will be\na bit different with the addition kid’s vs adults leg. \nStarting from Maylands Public Boat ramp close to Perth outriggers home base down to the\nHurricane shed in East Fremantle. Come on up to the Swan River to test out your winter training\nwith a choice of 2 senior races on the day. The ‘whole hog’ 22 kms from Perth outriggers in\nMaylands down to Hurricane home base or the ‘half run’ from the Narrows Bridge to the club –\n12km. As well as the ‘Kids vs adults’ 12km distance run with a change over. \nAll designed to be a bit of fun with some competition thrown in\, this event is designed to wake up\nthose winter muscles and get your bum in a seat. The field will be open to OC1\, OC2\, V1\, SUP and\nOC6\, which will be run as a mixed event. So if you can’t field a full team grab a bum from another\nclub and get out on that water. \nLast year the kids tested out the Half run with a relay change over at Point Walter to test themselves\nagainst the seniors and came in hot on their tails. Can they get closer this year with more kids joining\nthe challenge? \nIt’s going to be a jam packed day and we would love to see you all there to kick the season off with\nsomething fun and different. There’s something for everyone in this event so get involved!\nStick around after for the WAZA AGM and some junior fundraising.

DESCRIPTION:The Sandgroper series has been created by the Western Australian Zone of AOCRA (WAZA) to develop the sport of Outrigger Canoeing in WA. Introducing a juniors-only race series to ensure paddlers are kept engaged throughout their early developmental years within the sport. \nThe Great Sandgroper Adventure Race is for all divisions from Minnows to 16U/19U with different lengths of courses to suit the ability of all age groups using all outriggers including OC6\, OC2\, OC1\, and V1. The races incorporate paddling\, swimming\, running\, exciting and re-entering canoes\, and jetty jumping in a safe\, well managed program of events. \nDownload the race package
